This is what you need for a wash:

• 1 cup of white vinegar (250 ml) or distilled vinegar
• Half a cup of baking soda (also called sodium bicarbonate or baking soda): 125 mg
• Hot water

Dirty towels and sheets that no longer smell so fresh can be treated in the washing machine. Dissolve a cup of white vinegar in some water and put it in the drum of your washing machine. Run the washing machine through the full cycle. Very easy!

Afterwards, run the washing program again with hot water, but now you add the baking soda, sodium bicarbonate. It is important not to mix the two ingredients, vinegar and sodium bicarbonate.

Hang the towels to dry after this wash and immediately notice the difference when you use the towels again.

In the body, bicarbonate plays an important role in deacidification. It also has a function in keeping the pH in the blood constant, among other things. Our pancreas produces massive amounts of baking soda to neutralize the acidic environment in the small intestine. When bicarbonate comes into contact with acid, the liquid starts to bubble because CO2 is released.
