What is body spirit?
Bodyspirit tells us something about the wisdom of our body. We do not yet realize that our body contains an enormous wealth of information. A doctor can sometimes physically feel the body where and what complaint is present. But underlying it is also an emotional layer of feeling. Or an energy can also be felt in the body that leads to certain complaints.
A centering practitioner works with the dynamic model of Centering. By working with the totality of being human, namely the physical – mental – emotional and energetic body, he can provide insight into certain patterns, complaints,…
Build-up of body spirit
Just as Centering’s model works with 4 levels and 8 fields, the body is made up of four spheres and eight layers and a center.
The 4 atmospheres
The body consists of four spheres. Each atmosphere has its own specific qualities and strengths.
- Cymbal atmosphere
- Gudget atmosphere
- Chest atmosphere
- Main atmosphere
A Centering Practitioner uses the spheres as a gateway to the 4 levels of the Centering® model. Working on a certain sphere initiates change that also affects the other spheres and levels. In this way, the dynamics of the Centering® model are initiated by acting on the body.
The 8 layers
The body is organized into 8 layers. These layers are always connected to each other and influence each other. Each layer is a source of distinct qualities that can be felt and set in motion where necessary.
- The bones
- The muscles
- The organs
- The fascia
- The liquids
- The endocrine glands
- The nervous system
- The skin
The 8 layers give the Centering Practitioner a real picture of how the person feels on a daily basis, how he is in relationship with others and how he functions in the world. It also provides him with more information about the cause of the physical complaints, the compensation mechanisms and the needs that the person needs to feel better about himself. The layers are also used to learn to use the specific energies and qualities.
Bodyspirit is a way of listening to the intuitive wisdom of the body. The body ‘knows’ everything. The only thing is to find a gateway to understand the language of the body. There are several fields of research that work very sublimely on the body and understand its language: cranio sacral therapy, fascia therapy, causopractie,… Each domain has its own techniques for opening up the body at the cellular level. In Centering, the body is brought into contact with the other layers of consciousness in and around the body and thus a connecting whole is sought.
How this is done and how a Centering Practitioner works with it can be read at what is a Centering Practitioner?
